Contributing to the Fairer Safer Housing Review

Sam Hawkins (BCLS Lawyer) and Hugh Boulton (recent PLT student and BCLS volunteer) have been busy recently writing a number of submissions in response to the Victorian Government’s Review of the Residential Tenancies Act.

The submisions explain how resolving disputes between tenants and landlords can be done better. One suggestion is for magistrates to be able to deal with co-tenant disputes where there has been family violence at the same time as the intervention order matters to save both parties having to attend multiple hearings at different venues.
