Barwon Community Legal Service is an independent not-for-profit organisation providing fee-free legal advice, referral, casework, social work and education to the Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast and Colac Otway communities.

Community Lawyer – two positions available

  • – Fixed term contracts up to 12 months
  • – Full or part time negotiable – 22.8 to 38 hours per week

We are seeking to employee two Community Lawyers on fixed term contracts due to maternity leave and funding contracts.  This is a great opportunity to join our integrated legal team. The work will be varied and involves providing information, advice, casework, court and tribunal representation, and community education to clients and community partners. The ideal candidate will have broad legal knowledge, a strong commitment to the principals of social justice, and the ability to relate to and communicate with young people.

One position is a generalist community lawyer role, the other will run our university lawyer program at Deakin University.
